The small zeta potential for commercial Ni might be explained on the basis of Fig. 3(d), which shows a wide distribution of particles sizes. The large particles may act as centers of attraction for smaller Ni particles, forming agglomerates that internally shield the solution, giving rise to small zeta potential values ((=q/47t:~~~a, where a is the radius of particle and q is the charge).
